Back-end Developer (Laravel / Symfony / Angular / AI)

The Role

We’re looking for a back-end developer who is confident in architecting scalable systems and thrives on building the core logic that powers modern applications. You’ll join a cross functional team working on custom solutions. Using Laravel, Symfony, and AI technologies you’ll solve practical problems with smart code.

You'll work on both client projects and internal tools, collaborating with product owners, front-end developers, and data engineers to bring ideas to life.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain custom back-end systems using Laravel and Symfony

• Design and implement RESTful APIs

• Collaborate on architecture and database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

• Integrate AI models (e.g., machine learning APIs, LLMs, computer vision) into production systems

• Optimize code for performance, scalability, and security

• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code

• Work with Docker-based environments and CI/CD pipelines

• Perform code reviews and mentor team members when needed

• Stay current with PHP, AI integrations, and modern back-end best practices

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in back-end development

• Solid proficiency with Laravel and/or Symfony

• Strong understanding of API design, authentication (OAuth2, JWT), and versioning

• Experience working with relational databases and query optimization

• Familiarity with basic AI concepts and integrating external AI services or models

• Comfort working with Git, Docker, and modern development workflows

• Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude

• Fluent in English and Dutch.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with job queues, event-driven architecture, or message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis)

• Experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, custom models)

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP services

• Interest in DevOps, observability, or security practices
